AREAS OF COMPETITION AND JUDGING CRITERIA

Panel Interview – 25% of Score (30 minutes) (Conducted the month prior to Pageant)

Attire: Business Attire

Self- introductory speech (8-10 minutes) followed by questions from the judges’ panel. Questions will be focused on your background, opinions on current events, world culture, social/political topics, your involvement in the community and your interests. 

Opening Number – Not Judged

Attire: TBD

Brief dance and walking pattern opening number with current Queen and Princesses.

Business Attire – 25% of Score (2 minutes)

Attire: Interview Outfit or New Business Attire

You will introduce yourself to the audience with information including your name, age, school, interests, personal and professional goals. You may also include why you love Huntington Beach and/or what being Miss Huntington Beach would mean to you.

Athletic/Lifestyle Wear – 25% of Score (2 minutes)

Attire: Clothing suitable for exercise, sports, activities, or hobbies associated with an activity you regularly participate in and enjoy.   

The MC will relay additional information about you to the audience.

Formal Wear – 25% of Score (2 minutes)

Attire: Evening Gown

After modeling your gown while the MC relays additional information about you to the audience, you will be asked an on-stage question involving history/facts about Huntington Beach. Sample questions will be provided to you prior to the Pageant.
